Brahmas vs Soundstream SPL

ok i totally had forgotten about my two 12 inch soundstream spl subs I used to have back in the day and how freakin hard they pounded my head in.... no one put them down b/c I konw they kick total *** as well but like i've said in the past I dun know what the adires sound like yet. soo i'm debatin between those two subs now. the other thing is if I do end up gettin the JBL 1200.1 amp over the JL Audio 1000/1 amp for money saving reasons.... how should I hook up the adire subs since they are considered for home audio which would be at 8 ohms if i'm correct. lets say I get two brahmas 15s or 12s. Are they dual voice coiled? if so how would I need to hook them up to get the most spl sound out of the brahmas... same as if I got the Soundstream SPL 12s b/c they are duel voice coils as well. the JBL and JL amp are 1 channel mono amps if i'm correct so how should I be hookin them up guys? The only sub anywhere near the ball park with a Brahma is the stroker.. none of the others are close IMHO

I wouldnt say just a stroker in the same ballpark. RE, Shockers, ED, DD, ect,ect are in the same ballpark. But in that list yeah the stroker.

uhhh yall didn't tell me how to run the subs to the amp.... so if I get two subs dual voice coiled.... how would I need to hook it up to a mono amp from jbl or jl audio?

if they are dual 4 ohm....then run them at 1 ohm

if they are dual 2 ohm (or 8 ohm)....then run them at 2 ohms

dont forget!!!! they are probbaly no match for the brahma in the long run, up to a certain point they wold keeup well...........

i has a pair of SPL12s and absolutely loved them - a great great, nothin special in the looks ddepartment sub............and it hard and low........

put it this way, the SPLs were out way ago, like around 5 years ago and back then they were impressive, even now Id say they can hold their own again many newer subs..............................I just hope SS keeps up the good work, even if they are in the hands of PowrAkoustik.............
