Brahma's or XXX's?

Might want to wait for a review of the new Brahmas before you get them......with the Tumult being Adire's new top sub, I wonder how the new Brahmas will compare to the old line....Im sure they will still be nice subs, just not sure if they will be on the level of the previous Brahma's.

If anything adire would make improvements on it, not downgrade it. So it should be on the same level, if not better.

Actually they did "downgrade" it some to make room for the Tumult becoming a full product lineup. Smaller coil, less power handling, less Xmax (not much...wouldn't be noticeable to the ear and maybe not even the mic).

But, from what they've said thus far, it's performance is on par with the Brahma people have come to know and love.

I can't give an opinion on this because I have not listened to either sub. I also have no idea what the new brahmas cost..

I'd say go for the pair of XXX's.

However, you failed to include some important info in the decision making process.....

RE doesnt spend more time and effort into advertiseing than quality like JL does.....

Granted RE has the potential to hit mainstream and still the potential to sell out.....that still has not occured..and when it does it'll be a sad day....but when you compare re to jl, you're getting the same quality as JL (if not better) but for cheaper with RE.......RE is just getting more business which they deserve for makeing good products and treating thier clients like real people. i'm impresseed with thier customer service (occassional phone rings for 5 min but most often i get through to them quickly)....but to say RE has already sold out is untrue.......but hey, that's just my 2 cents..

xxx's are power hogs. brahma's are hella efficient. they can run good at 800 watts, you need nearly double for the xxx's to be happy.

brahma's can be had all over the place too, used of course. and with the money you want to throw around, i would wait for the sound splinter RL-s to come out.

I would hafto say go with a Brahma Extreme . If you can find one. I have one and it is truly an amaizing sub. I have never heard a xxx ,but I do know that my brahma freakin slams. The extremes can handle 3k daily and 10k burps. sq is outstanding

Yeah, Adire said while the brahmas are a downgrade on paper, you probably won't hear it. Which makes sense because it's only a half mm xmax difference. The biggest difference I see between the XXX and the Brahma is the power requirements. A brahma will run off of under a thousand watts without any issue, a XXX can take way more power, which could be a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it.

there both very nice drivers, and are pretty similar aswell. the choosing factor for me was thats adire's warehouse is in washington, therefore if something goes wrong with my brahma, i can just bring it to them.

actually if you would read my post over you will see that i said orion 2500"s if i choose the XXX's and then i proceeded to ask about which amps would someone suggest for the brahma's. I'm not new to this stuff, so don't assume that i don't know about current draw and alternators and appropriate wiring. When you read too far into the question you come up with answers like you gave. when you don't read into the question you assume that i will use the optimum size enclosure for the driver i choose. My trunk specs won't change so therefore it really should not matter which of THESE 2 drivers i end up with---its the same car so the comparison should be apples to apples not apples to oranges. with that out of the way do you have a reason for suggesting XXX's or do you want to continue to try to make it look as if i never thought this choice thru?
