Brahma vs. idMAX

hey i was looking into getting a 12 inch idMAX for SQL but have seen a lot of people talking about the Adire Brahma. Will one 12-inch Brahma blow one 12 inch idMAX out the water? i want SQ AND SQL.. ive heard the idMAX is more SQ in sealed enclosure and more SPL in ported enclosure (with high loss of SQ?). that makes me skeptic about getting an idMAX so now i'm wondering about the brahma. will the brahma deliver mad spl and at the same time give better sound quality compared to the idmax? i've read a couple of threads about people complaining that the RE XXX being too muddy so i guess that eliminates that subwoofer from my "to-buy" list.. are there any other subs that can guarantee mad SPL and mad SQ in a proper installation?? what do u think about the brahma compared to the idMAX?

I have the Brahma 12 and have put it in ported and sealed. The ported (2.25 27 hz tuning)sounded great and a good deal louder while maintaining great accuracy. The sealed was not very loud and did not sound much better than when it was ported. Either way you will not get mad spl from the Brahma but I would go ported to make the most of it. As far as the IDmax I assume that it is about like the Brahma but I have never owned one and could be completely wrong.

in this case, i would go brahma, but the idmax is cheaper. so if you can get two of them used or something, then go for ID. Also, dont elimnate the xxx just because 3 or 4 people out of a few thousand disliked them. A xxx has the ability to get louder than both listed but still.... Brahma is a good choice.
