brahma mkII motor what to do?

Alright my buddy has a 12" brahma mkII that is blown and he is thinking about getting it reconed somewhere? What all options does he have when getting it fixed? Also who would be best to call? Can he have the company build some kind of hybird? Sorry for the questions neither of us are familiar with these questions.

Would he be able to pick what the sub gets reconed with? I know some people use the coil from the fi q in tc9 subs, but is there anything he can do with this motor like that?

I figured I could send it to fi or re but I am curious as to what parts they will use to recone it? Do they have a standard recone setup they use in every woofer they recone or are there options to choose from to build the sub how the person would like it? I see people selling subs with custom spider setups and coils from other subs.

I was just hoping someone on here may have dealt with this before and could answer my questions. I know both companies are very busy and I would try here before keeping them on the phone asking multiple sub questions.

Being an XBL^2 driver you definitely don't just want to throw in some generic parts, you want a coil that is the right height to sit in the gap correctly to utilize XBL^2.
