brahma 15

Well I finally got my brahma 15 on wednesday, got it in and now the dust cap is falling off. I didnt even get to break it in completly, I was really looking forward to hearing it. But shit happens and always to me. lol

oh and I put a tsunami db1100 in also, and it goes into protection if you turn it up a little, it is fine at low volumes but you turn it up to where it starts to sound good and it shuts off. It wouldnt matter if the sub got broke in anyway because the amp wouldnt play real high.

It has been a real nice day. needless to say I am not real happy, but oh well, it can all go back...

Well it could be that the amp is seeing under a 1 ohm load. like maybe .08 or around there and it is putting it into protect. That is about the only thing it can be, it has a good steady voltage supply. So I am thinking that is what it is.

I have the same setup man. Only i have a brahma 12. I know what you're feeling. Not only did my dust cap come off, but it came refurbished AND broken (sounded so amazingly horrible). I sent it back though. Hopefully i'll get a new working one this time. Even when i turned my 1100d up mine didn't go into protection. Even with 4 guage cable etc. wired @ 1 ohm. So idk what to tell ya about that. Check the wiring i guess.

Haven't had any real problems with my (knock on wood). The only thing that concerns me is the the dust cap get pretty hot when it's not even pushed to 1/2 of it's x-max. I do have it in a pretty big box though, 5.5cu' tuned to 24Hz. I am in the process of rebuilding my box, making it into a 4.5cu' tuned to about 31Hz. Hopefully by doing this it can handle more power and get louder.

Yep, dust cap gets hot. Sub still works though. Don't touch it.

Well I sent the sub back to adire, which Kyle Richardson from acoustic-visions was great with the whole problem, very good customer service. They paid all shipping charges and was understandable about the problem. I am not pissed off about it, this kind of stuff happens and they are taken really good care of it. This is the first problem I have ever had with adire so I am willing to stick with it. Now the problem with the tsunami is not right, I have changed set ups 4 times and never once had a problem with any of my amps except for this turd. I was going to leave my mtx 81000d in, but wanted to give the brahma around a thousand watts, and my 81000d does about 825 to 850 at 4 ohms. Probably not much of a diffrence, so I think the mtx is going back in, it is a much cleaner amp. This is the 3rd time I have had a problem with a tsunami amp, so I think I am done with tsunami.

any one want to buy a tsunami db1100..lol

So, Mark, in other words, I shouldn't worry about the cap? Also, do you think my Brahma will be happier in the new 4.5cu' box tuned to 32Hz (not 31....redid the math...). In the 5.5cu' box the higher end bass seemed nonexistant, but the low lows (like 34Hz and down) rattled my eyeballs. It also seemd to lack the ability to get really loud. Hopefully the new box will fix all this.

Well just from this forum quite a few people have had a problem with adire's subs. People say the brahma is a great driver, so i'm also sticking with it. I e-mailed adire asking for the new version of the brahma, since I ordered my brahma mid summer and have NEVER had a working one. Never been able to hear it or anything. This will be a good test of their customer service. I hope they will atleast send me a new one of the old version.

well adire just emailed me and said they were not making the brahmas anymore. they are going to send my a tumult instead. LOL

Ha got to have a sense of humor..
