Brahma 12 problems...

I have 2 12" brahma's...

They were hooked up to a 1501d @ 2 ohms...I recently hooked them up to a battery to check the tinsel leads and one coil on each of the subs is either gone or isnt hooked up correctly...

Just wondering what all I can check to determine what is wrong with the sub...The sub moves freely and all of the tinsel leads are correct...

Any help will be appreciated...

Use a digital multi meter and set it to ohms. Hook the red one up to the + lead and the black up to the -, each coil should read close to what the adire sais it should be. If you dont get a reading on one coil, its probly gone.

Alright I did that and one coil on each of the subs is gone...Would this be case for a total recone? Or could they just repair the coil that is gone..?

Also if that coil was grounding out, would that be a suspicious reason for one coil going out?

I appreciate the help..

You'll have to have it completely reconed - there is no way to physically repair only one coil on a driver.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'grounding out' so I can't offer you any insight into that side of things, but unless a tinsel lead has failed topside, the driver will have to be completely torn down and reconed with a new assembly.
