i have it on my daily driver. it adds about 500w in my case so i got a sub that i can throw 50% more wattage at for $40 moreCool thanks. Would that be something you'd really only need if you were pushing it like in a competition? Would a daily driver benefit from it?
I was planning on getting a 2000wRMS amp, each sub is 1000wRMS, so if I did get that option would the subs be starved for power? Like, if you had one with and one without BP would they play the same volume at 1000wRMS, just the BP could accept more wattage and get louder? Thanksu dont have to get it but if u want to get a bigger amp down the road u can push more rms to them . i did not go with it cuz i was running out of monies. if u can come up with the money do it. from what i heard the more options u get for your subs it might take longer for u to get them. that what i heard
We just added the "BP Power" option to both the SSD and Q series subwoofers. This new option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack.
All of these new features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application.
