There is plenty of data that supports fan will pay much more than $20 for a CD if given the choice. This evidence has also supported with the price of bagels and a variety of things...given the choice, people will pay more....

people know its illegal but still do it like its nothing

if more people get pulled over in a speed trap then people will slow down

People do not necessarily have to slow down, they can chose a different route, ride a train, fly in a helicopter...there are a variety of other choices.
