BOX'S WHATS BETTER FOR SUBS ?boxes with a divider or signle chamber?

i have a dual 12in box signle chamber and when the subs play it looks like there fighting eachother for the air space? should i get a divider? how big of differance would it make?will i loose spl? sq?

I tried using a common chamber set up in one of my systems and it had a bad resonance due to flexing, after i switched to a dual chamber enclosure of the same size and it sounded great.
