MMA is really the only sport i enjoy watching. Ufc and Pride fc are both great orginizations but i do belive Pride has a higher caliber of fighters for sure. Also to who ever said bjj owns in MMA is a bit mistakin ,mma is mixed martial arts. If your not good at all of it your gonna get killed.

All the great fighters in UFC have BJJ background or wrestling.

i have to agree, i think bjj does own. because everybody knows it plus something else i.e. bjj & pancrease, bjj & muy thai, bjj & wrestling, etc

Ok...every one has a wrestling or bjj background dosnt mean it owns. In the begining bjj and wrestling "owned". Now any more you have to be well rounded or your gonna get tossed. UFC is good S*** i watch ever P.P.V and fights on T.V. it's pretty fun, you guys otta try it in your back yards or basements.

BJJ doesn't own. That's not the way the sport works anymore. It's not the mid 90's and the sport has evolved far past the BJJ/Ground and Pound/Standup designations. Look to Pride and tell me how much BJJ owns. Wanderlei Silva? Chute Box? Look at the last UFC, predominately stand up. Even the Penn GSP fight, with BJ having a Renzo Gracie blackbelt and GSP having a brown. Almost no ground. Fighters, as said, are required to be the complete package now simply due to the sheer number of people in the sport.

IMO muy thai owns in MMA. It seems to be the most popular style of finding when they are on there feet.

I said great fighters, not win some lose some fighters. Fighters like Gracie Shamrock, Severn. They were all grapplers. Gracie I think he only lost 1. I agree the sport has changed. It is getting more stand up which I like and is exciting. Even the real good fighters of today Hughes, Penn, Sanchez(he hasn't lost yet) Couture are either BJJ based or wrestlers.

Seriously? Gracie, Shamrock, and Severn? Shamrock is a joke and hasn't won anything in his life, Severn is a worse joke. Gracie was a good fighter for his time, but you'll see Matt destroy him in a month on a far larger scale than Sakuraba did.

There are just as many striker oriented fighters at the top of the game as bjj/wrestling.

I watch it all the time. Its great that its on cable now. Brazilian Jujitsu dominates UFC. I hate boxing. Where did all the great boxers go? Although I was glad to see Lacy get owned.

I love boxing and I watch the ufc at times. Just only on cable, I wont pay for it though.

Funny you mentioned Lacey getting pwned by the white boy! I loved every second the dude hit him. I will give credit to Lacy though. Dude got creamed and kept asking for more, lol! Was a mother fuc ker to knock down.

you're right, but what kicks in when it goes to the ground!? bjj or wrestling or some type of grappling form. thats how bas rutten lost to either ken or frank shamrock in the pride fights. he was just a striker and when it went to the floor, frank or ken jumped in that *** cause bas admittted he didn't know how to grapple at all. when he finally learned, he was deadly.
