Bowlers?

If your wrist is that bad to the point where you think it would break bowling get one of the metal wrist supports(scorpion, robbys, etc) with those ur wrist wouldnt move at all.

if you are going to buy a ball get it from a pro shop. if you buy online then take it to a shop to get it drilled ur talking 25-50 dollars to get it drilled so in the end itll cost close to the same.

also try learning to bowl with the other hand. itll seem extremely difficult at first but you will learn. i had a friend that got into a horrible car accident and had to learn with is other hand and now avg's 215. took him a couple years but he taught himself.

to answer your original question i have ordered from blockbusterbowling.com they have excellent customer service and pretty good prices on alot of stuff. never ordered any bowling balls from them because i order from my pro shops but i have bought shoes, bags and what not.

i work at a pro shop down here in florida. If i was you i would really go to a pro shop in your area. It sounds like your just looking to get a regular plastic ball that goes straight and has no reactive block. Now i am not familiar with what your pro shop carries, but i would suggest an Ebonite Maxim, or a Columbia White Dot(WB).

These are just regular entry-level plastic balls that you would get at the bowling alley that they have for everyone to use, except this one will be made specifically for your hand.

Sure you can get them on websites like buddiesproshop.com for like 45$ but depending on ur pro shop, they may charge 30-50$ to drill the ball. So it would be best to just get them directly from the pro shop, these balls retail anywhere from 59.99-69.99 and that would include the drilling from the pro shop.

If you want to step up to something reactive, i would suggest a Tropical storm. These have weight blocks and will react to the lanes, meaning they will curve. These are a little more expensive, you can get them online for around 80-90$ but again depending on the drilling costs, it would be best to get them from the pro shop. Ur pro shop should be asking around 119$ drilled for this ball.

Also, if your wrist is indeed that bad, i normally dont recommend the wrist supports but it would really help you out without further injurying your wrist. They have basic ones that average between 15-20$ and more advanced ones that help your wrist go through the motion of producing revolutions on the ball that can go anywhere from 60-160$.

Also, another thing that could help you save some money but it will take some time. Ask ur pro shop if they could measure you, they should give you a piece of paper with specs on it. Like your span, pitches and finger whole sizes. Get that from them and some online companies will drill them for you.

also, the only time i would recommend buying a bowling ball online is if you plan on getting some of the med range to higher end bowling balls cause this could save you 75-100+ dollars.

Also, if you use inserts get these online too, my pro shop charges 12.95 for them and you can get them online for like 2-3$

I can get a ball for about $115 shipped and drilled. It's a Visionary Exexutioner 11Lb. That's with it being drilled locally at a pro shop here.

my girlfriend just bought for her entry level fingertip ball (only been bowling 3 years, cause i made her!! lol) Hammer Vibe $100. just the addition of a reactive ball she went from 85-135 avg in a couple weeks. my goal is to coach her to a 150 this season.

the vibe is hammer's entry level reactive. ive considered getting one to play around with for when i wanna go straighter sometime.

i get all my high end balls online at bowling.com, all of them have saved me 80 dollars each after i got them drilled, but if i was to get a plastic ball i would go to the pro shop. also if you wrist is that bad i would look into getting a wrist brace, robbys revs makes one hell of a support, i had one when i first started out and it was great, but now i don't need one so i don't use one.

buddiesproshop.com

but i'd recommend you get it drilled at your pro shop, that way if it gets messed up in the drilling you can take it back and they can plug it, and do it over...instead of shipping it back to the store, and waiting for weeks, then getting it back...

do all pro shops have oval hole drillers now? Back in like 95 we got one in my home alley and it was the first in the state iirc. All I know is that an oval thumb hole >>>>>>> round one.

well if you gonna go with a 11# ball i wouldn't buy a high performance ball, makes no sense....but if you want to go to bowling.com....free shipping and i get all my stuff within 2-3 days
x2, got my Hammer Black Widow from them. 90 buck cheaper than my local alley.

Also if you are looking at the No Mercy its a very reactive ball. It will take off on you if you don't have the proper swing/release. If you have decent control its a great ball, the black widow(which I have) is a little less reactive.

yes the black widow pearl is getting amazing reviews, a guy i bowl with in the pba experience has won and did great with it on the cheetah pattern, but anything longer than that it doesn't have enough back end to get back, but on a true house shot it is amazing from what i am hearing, the total nv is also a great ball, i'm more of an ebonite fan but ebonite makes hammer balls so its the same....
