Bowing Power fuses

Well the battery is not going dead as a matter of fact it is going strong and there is nothing wrong with that...Is there anyway of fixing the amp if there is anything wrong with it...the fuse is not blowing until i have the ground and the power hooked up at the same time ... I can have the power wire hooked up without the ground and it will not blow but then if i hook up the ground it goes pop...and it is blown....Would that mean anything different at all...See when i do this i don't even have the high imput plugged in or anything it is just when the ground and the power are connected at the same time...I don't know what is going on and it really sucks.....

To be honest unless you know anything about circuit boards and capacitors and soldering the answer is NO.

Take the cover off the amp. Look and see if any of the board is black or looks like there is anything (water/salt residue) on it. If not look around all the capacitors and see if there is any burning of the board, or any material around the connections.

The only thing you can really do is try and clean the circuit board with a STATIC FREE cloth. Look at all the circuit board lines and make sure there is not a burned area conecting them.

The problem with fixing the amp is most electronic repair stores do not stock the diagram for each and every amp. They would have to order it, ( and the are not cheap) then order what parts are bad, and also find the bad parts, and hope it is not the main board. All this adds up to a point the fixed amp costs a lot more than a new one. The same thing goes for VCR and TVS. It is cheaper to get a new one.

All you can do is clean it (no power to it) and be very carefull, some of the capacitors may still be holding a charge and they CAN kill you.

alright, so you basicaly need something that will tell you for sure that the +/- on the amp is shorted out. i have access to multi-meters, but maybe some of the other guys on here will have a good idea on how to do it.... but basicaly just take anything battery operated that you can cut the positive wire on, hook your two pieces of wire up to the + an - on the amp, if the thing turns on then uve got a short somewhere inside the amp an youll be able to return it to any store you baught it, or send it back to the manufacture as a DOA unit. trust me you wont get shit from em cuz they love fireing dumbass people... an if the thing doesnt turn on then youve got a bigger problem... possibly still inside the amp, maybe its drawing more power than its supposed to, that would explain why it passed the hi-pot test at the plant, cuz they probably didnt check for overloads. basic rule of thumb, faster is cheaper is better for CEO :p aight hope dis helps out, peace

i took it to a local shop and they told me tat it was the power terminals and that i would have to send it back to get a new one or whatever i just hope that i can do that without the warranty being up because i just bought the thing sooo yeh... I can't wait to get the 2 r types hooked up and bumping thanks to everyone for al the help...

Well it has been sent back and it should be gettting there today or tomarrow but i don't care i need to wait for the custom box that is being built anyway..I think that this will be a nice system to have and if i have more questions i will come to you guys because you sound like you know what you are doing....Thanks a lot guys..

Dude your RCA's arent gonna be poppin 100 amp fuses for you your wires are cut and grounded against metal somewhere rerun your power and ground wire and if you drilled through the firewall open the hole up a lil more and put some sealant and tape around the part of the wire that goes through just to make sure it doesnt get cut open against the metal. Also if you keep blowin fuses go to walmart and buy a dual fuse holder so you have a back up fuse but everytime ive ran across this problem its been the power wire shorted out in the stupidest spot
