Bought my 1st House

**** dude. You just bought the sweet *** gun and have that sick *** blazer. Now you bought a house and you want a 6 car garage? I wish I had that kind of dough. Where do you plant your money tree? That or what do you do for a living so I can learn that trade.
Just messing wit ya. Sounds like a nice place. Congrulations on it. I understand about not wanting to move in right away. I bought my house 3 years ago and well needless to say I thought I had all my interior/exterior done before I moved in. Man was I wrong. I will never be done with this place. Mine is small compared to yours though. I did just recently put in a new garage and cement driveway.Good luck bud!
hehehe, Thanks for the compliments...

I work hard so I play hard...

I'm a Network Engineer... I work on mostly Cisco Routers and switches... Lots of hours, lots of oncall and lots of stree...

As much as people think I make, I am actually way underpaid as far as the industry average goes... I should be making atleast 10-15K more per year....

Also, I got a really good deal on the house, thats why I am going to be able to get the garage...

CCNA CCNP? Which one? Or no?

Im going to work for cisco in 5 months. Being on there sales team. I Really want to get my hands back on the physical aspect of it. I used to be a network admin for a Highschool, middle school, 2 elementary, and 3 preschools, all at one time. Moved in 1000+ computers took out 500+ computers.... and I wired 1 elementary, the middle school and some of the highschool, all of it was wired... and configured by me.

Was fun stuff... I really want to get back into it

I currently have my CCNA, I'm working on CCNP...

Really work for Cisco.... Where will you be stationed??? What team will you be on??? Enterprise, Provider, Goverent???

I know about 10+ people at Cisco, mostly S.E.s and like 2-3 A.E.s most of them are on a Provider Team...

The ISP I work at, when I started we had like 125 customers on dialup/hybrid Cable Modems... Telco Up, Co-Ax down, till the CMTS market started maturing and we are now 100% 2way and in the markets I'm responsable for we have about 330,000 residential customers, 10,000 Small Business Customers and a few hundred Fiber customers...

98% Cisco gear on the Internet side of the house, but they make us use Arris CMTS chassis for the VOIP platform.... I hate it... I'm really pushin to get us to migrate to Cisco gear for that too...

I don't have any yet...
I may get some today.... Now, it usally gets dark before I get home...

But I'm going to get some.... I want to do a big before and after as the years go by and see the improvements...

The house is really structurally sound... My brother in law (to bee) is an appraiser and I had him look at it/appraise it before we bought it... The only bad thing is, its kinda ugly (in my opinion)...

It is/was a one owner house... The people I bought it from, built it in 1955 and have lived in it till a month ago... They lady got to old to live by herself and moved in with her son, who sold it too me...

Now the biggest problem is, the decor, stylines, colors etc... all look like they come from the late 70s...

Hence thge reason we aint moving in for a few months...

We want to repaint everything, recarpet and do a few other updates...

Such as electric... I want to upgrade the box and service to 200Amp, so that when I get a garage built in a few months, I'll be able to run a dedicated 100 amp circuit out there... Then we'll have a garage box that all its circuits come off of....

So, like I said its kinda of oldstyle and Ugly looking now, but I'll get some pics anyway...

I think its going to be a nice starter home for us...
How much did you get the house for? Sounds like a nice buy.

When you do the panel change, have you thought about maybe doing a 300amp panel instead. It sounds like you have alot of backyard space, and if your going to run a 100amp circuit to the garage, and have the other 100 for the house, and you decided to build something nice out back with the space you have left, if you do have any, you will need some more power and instead of wasting more money i'd just think ahead now. Also I'm not quite sure how elebarote(spelling) your going to trick out your home theather, but depending on how much power/current your going to be using from there, I highly doubt you'll be able to squeeze all that plus everything else in the house on a 100Amp circuit. As an electrician I'd suggest doing a 300amp panel if you can afford it.

Wow first person ever that i have met that does ccna semester 3 i am currently in ccna we have a class in our highschool does this stuff really pay off like is it a pretty good proffesion?
