Bought an oldskool Kicker KS80 substation

I had one of the original stillwater designs (Kicker) brand pre loaded dual 6.5" subs with 2 horns and a 10" passive boxes. That set-up sounded amazing for what it was it was one of those guess my woofer size moments no one got it right.

I wish I still had the **** thing it was pretty cool!

first car audio sub i remb with stiched surronds gotta love it.

i hooked up alot of those in 12s and 15s back in the mid to late 90s..

A friend of mine back in the day had two 8 kicker competition is a kicker made box. Sounded amazing !

Are you the member who has one of those old teardrop shaped enclosures that houses four 6x9's isobaric? I was thinking it was Polk, but I dont remember now. I do remember them being pretty impressive pre-fab sub setups.

Feast your eyes on an isobaric 6th order bandpass guys. It even has the fluted wall to give it the curved shape. Quite a sophisticated setup really, even by today's standards. I remember when those were new, I wanted one pretty bad, but they were pricey.

I still used it when I was back in the states for my 55" TV's subwoofer. I put an old 1980's pioneer home amp on it with 100 watts and it really sounds sweet.

And yes, they were VERY pricey back in the day. I think around $400 for it. And yes, it was WAY ahead of its time, and I now have it wraped up in plastic and in storage these days.

$400 for this was indeed pricey... but looks well built.
