Hey all. I have 3 JL Audio 10/W/6's that I want to put in a 02 Mustang GT. I built the first box, but I fired it into the cab of the car and it didnt sound that great so I turned it around and it sounded much better.

I just bought an Xtant 1001 for the subs and have an Xtant 604X for the mids and highs. So at 1ohm I should be running about ~1000 watts to the subs.

I have no idea whether to build the box firing back towards the trunk, up into the back window, sealed or ported, square or round ported, 3 separate chambers, or one big chamber.

When I used to install, it was always hatchbacks which is easy to figure out, so this is my first trunk mounted box.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks!

Heres my first build in about 10 years from last year.

Its 33w X 15h and as far back as needed. My thoughts are where to put 48 inches of amps. I know the rear deck is skeletonized, that's why I was asking if anyone had ever fired them straight up through the rear deck into the back window. That would give me the back of the box extended to the edges of the trunk to flush my amps.

If you think ported, I need some kind of formula or link suggestions for port design. I can do whatever labor wise, but I've never done the square ports.

Thanks!
