Bought a JL w6 12, jl XD 600/1 amp, and Rockford line driver. Bass sounds distorted.

I have to following setup in my '13 Mazda 3.

Factory touchscreen head unit

Factory Bose sound system

JL w6v2 12' in a sealed box

JL XD 600/1

Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty balanced line driver

Even though I bought the line driver the w6 still sounds dirty and slightly distorted. The only way it sound clean is to turn the bass on my head unit way down but then I have no bass on my speakers and the subwoofer also loses it's depth.

What else can I buy to make it sound as good as the money spent on it? Do I also need to buy a signal processor in addition to the line driver I already have?

unhook your sub, set the deck up so it sounds good up loud with your main speakers

then unhook your main speakers, plug the sub back in, and set the JLs amp gain right with the deck volume up loud again

Have you tried tuning down the gain on the line driver and messing with the balanced/unbalanced switch? I would also try turning down the gain on the JL amp as well. See if messing around with any combination of the above and see if that helps at all. Line driver gain turned up with amp gain down and the reverse etc. One problem you could be having is sometimes factory systems especially Bose can have a separate factory amp that can have preset crossovers for the speakers or subsonic filters or any kind of signal manipulation in it. So the signal you are getting and amplifying has been altered so it could have a bump or reduction at certain frequencies. So 60 hz could be flat and 50 hz could have a 6db bump in it and at 40 hz it could have a -6db reduction etc. If this is the case look into what the JL Cleansweep does if this is in fact your problem. I would think that replacing the headunit would fix all of this or the JL Cleansweap.

Also if the car does have a factory amp located somewhere in the car if you can tap into the signals before they enter the amp and get manipulated this could work as well.
