how would it sound in a ported box at 1.8 before displacement tuned to 31 hz off 1000 watts? i know boston recommends a 2 cubic foot ported box but i'd have problems fitting one that big. would it be better to do that ported that size or go sealed and get the passive radiator thing? i'm looking for loudness and lows

I just hooked mine up in a 1cuft box with the passive. this thing kicks ***... 900w and the output is fantastic. I believe boston recommends 2.1 or 2.5 actually

yeah thats what im wondering if it'd be better to put it in a ported box thats smaller than they recommend or if the sealed box with the passive would be better. how loud does yours get with the sealed box and everything?

man i cant remember the actual size of the ported box i had mine in... but it was definately more of the 2-2.5 side. It played really loud off a jl 1000/1v1 and an eclipse 8v headunit. I really loved that setup. and it played loud and clear on the lows.

yeah i've heard nothing but good things about them so i'm gonna have it as my next sub to replace an sa-12. i just don't know what i should do about the box i don't have too much room to work with

Better off going small box with the PR than smaller than 2cf ported. It's not going to like 1.8cf.

Boston says 1cf with the PR models up exactly like 2.5 vented. And I believe them. Mine in 1cf + PR on 900w was awesome.

Spend the extra 50 bucks on the PR. You won't regret it.

It gets pretty loud. It absolutely destroys the sealed 10 it replaced, but that isnt surprising. Im not a basshead but i like to play sometimes and i dont see myself ever wanting more
