Boston Acoustics

Whats the deal with boston acoustics. Are they really worth the money, and are they one of the best providers for comp. speakers. I'm kinda a newbie at starting a system, so im just trying to get some info on what to buy. The reason im curious about boston acoustics is because i've heard that they sound a lot clearer than most competitors. If someone could give me the info. I'd appreciate it.

their Pro subs are very nice, I almost bought a pair, but I did some reading, (this was 2 years ago) but they did have some reliabilty problems on them back then, but I am sure they have corrected the problem since then

The Pro subs are a joke, IMO. Unremarkable displacement, poor powerhandling, and honestly rather frail drivers, from my experience.

Horrible deal for the money as well. You can pay half as much and absolutely destroy them with countless other speakers.

The components are solid, but I'd avoid the subs, they are NOT a good deal for the price.

thanks for the info, i was really leaning toward getting the boston acoustics pro series 6.53 for the sound, any comments.......Has anyone heard them or perhaps have them, I'd appreciate the reply. Also, could someone give me their opinion of a good amp to go with it. I plan on buying subs soon, but for now i can only take one step at a time.

If the subs do ****-***, then what would be a good sub to go with. would cerwin vegas be good and if so, what type. I had a couple JL audio 12's and they went through hell, they ripped around the seal over time but still sounded good. But i wanted something different other than a couple more of those.

Thanks,

i loved boston woofers.......clean, tight, bass for a low cost (i was just using the generators) Poor power handling???? i threw 500 watts a piece at my generators at one time and at no time did they ever show signs of surrendering....they were in a 2 cubic foot sealed enclosure.

Boston's tend to be overpriced because they only sell through retail distributors. The upside of that is their warrantee practices through Tweeter stores is second to none. Outfrigginstanding, no kidding.

I have a pair of little Boston FX3's in my dash and they are so clean and smooth for their size they blow my mind. I would not hesitate to own any component speaker they make. If I could afford them.

well the last time I dealt with them was 2 years ago, and I chose not to buy them due to they were blowing on a regular basis, Enter Kicker Solo Round 15s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

got 2 boston acoustic 10.5LF pro subs... excellent quality sound... pounding with 350 watts a piece and they are amazing... sound like 12s... i don't know what you guys are talking about... but there are def top of the line if the enclosure and power input is optimum...
