Boston Acoustics GT-2200 or SoundStream REF1.500 ftw

does anybody know anything good about the new ss ref? I've searched and searched and cant come up with to much of anything good or bad. Call me foolish but im just in cosmetic love with the soundstream amps....they have always been eye candy to me lol

To tell the truth, while the prices of GT-2200 seems great, you can get the same power from PPI Phantom P600.2 or Soundstream TN2.600D. These are cheap, popular amps, with 1/3rd of size of GT-2200, that should do their rated power. I would speculate that _perhaps_ boston acoustics amplifiers sound better if you connect them to reference level speakers. However, PPI P600.2 will be typically driving a sub or mid-basses, so to me it's perfectly fine to drive them with a budget Class D amplifier.

so how do you feel about the soundstream ref1.500 compared to the BA gt2125....i've measured my available trunk space and the 2200 just wont fit no how, no way im really only interested in these two amps if not one then the other

ok fellas I went with the BA gt2200 and gt475 with 2 G3 12" subs and everything is installed and up and running. I have all cdt audio m6+ gold midbass and 1" silk dome tweeters in the front doors cdt coaxials in the rear doors also. I'm absolutely impressed with the front stage and the 4 channel good clarity and high end. As for the subs and sub amplifier, I think the subs sound pretty good they are accurate and the response is tight. Now for the gt2200 it leaves me yet to be impressed, my main problem is the thing tends to overheat after extended playing time and goes into thermal. Im running it in 4 ohm stereo, so I feel like this amp should be fine, but believe me its not. I think im going to start back over again with a different amplifier and subwoofer setup cause im not totally satisfied yet, im thinking ssa icons and soundstream ref amps? Yays or Nays?
