OHHHHHHHHHH LOL I gotcha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I used to use my gain control as a volume knob as well. And the only sub I've ever blown was the W7. It was bad I had to pull over in the middle of my town, which is like half mile long, and open my hatch and watch the smoke filter out for a few mins.

Good lord! Was the little one in there at the time?

I watched a friend put WAY too much power into a ported 10w7 that was installed in his Prelude. Shattered his rear windshield. He took it to the body shop and he said they couldn't replace it because the frame was warped...would have been cheaper to get a new car.

You might get flamed for this....

Ehh I'm expecting it. Wouldn't be the first time. I figure you can be honest or you can hide behind your computer monitor. I wouldn't say anything on here I wouldn't say in public.

Hahaha. Sorry noob a 10w7 didn't break your buddy's window. Don't believe everything stupid people tell you

I'm not going on hearsay but I'm not expecting validation either. Yes, there's numerous factors that could have gone in, too. His car was a custy rumbucket and its days were numbered.

Ok looks like I need to provide more details because you're right, the sub was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Guy decided he wanted to put a system into a 94 Prelude that had about 5 previous owners and was bought for 700 bucks on a salvage title. There was already a small crack in the lower right corner of the glass and as for the frame crap? That's what he got for trying to get it done on the cheap.

So yes, you're right. Not the sub by itself, just the tipping point.

when i was 18 i believe or 19. I had a real cheap system that all my friends and I at the time thought was just incredible.

2 power acoustik gothic 2200 amps and 2 power acoustik mofo 12s. (back then I didn't know the difference between class A/B and class D) so when I bought the amps. I was telling everyone that I was going to be running 4400 watts. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL X infinity

I asked a few people about electrical support. And they all said. Just get a yellowtop in the trunk and you will be fine. LOL.

well anyways. Long story short.

I put the car in a local car show. and showed some people. And 2 guys told me that if my set up were in a hatch back. That I would have broke my rear windshield. And sadly. at the time. I believed it.

Gosh I hate how the whole n00b car audio starts out and goes.

And it starts that way with d@mn near everyone! Lol.

Btw...needed to provide the daily dose of trolololololo.

It's all good. Everything before the windshield story still sticks. Bazooka coax? Who the eff ever thought that was a good idea?

I think I've dug myself a pretty deep hole with my current setup, I mean I'm bout to run 2 12's on 4k, and in like 6-8 months ill want somethig louder, which means I'm gonna have to spend a **** ton more $$$ to be satisfied. My future in this hobby is looking expensive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Any hobby is like that, though. My vinyl phase? I went nuts but still managed to spend less than one phase of car audio. Thank God I'm not a tuner.

The only bazooka product I would ever buy, is bubblegum. Bazooka zooka bubblegum.
