currently i know someone who downloads movies off the internet few days after they come into theatres. they still think just because their dad knows some police officers, they wont get in trouble. the person is 18 years old. and they still hide behind their dad. and also they think they cops wont be able to find what they download, simply because they have the movies and such stored on an external harddrive. now is all of this true or false?

no, i am 18 though. and my parents always tell me that i cant hide behind them, when i do illegal shit. but i have downloaded a couple movies before.

it is uploading that they catch you on because to upload a movie you need to connect to other peers and it is the act of sharing them which is illegal

if you connect to someone phishing for IP's from the MPAA they will log your IP and ISP and then contact your ISP and track your *** down
