Can this stuff be used if there are slight gaps between where the 2 pieces of mdf join? I just glued the back bottom and sides together and im letting them cure. Once its hardened up im gonna use some brad nails to hold them securely and then I'll drill the pilot holes and use proper wood screws.

For the gaps, can i use this fibreglas filler? Is that ok?

Im doing the screws after the glue becuase i dont have anything to hold the 2 pieces together so i can line them up and drill the pilot holes.

so i shouldnt use screws now? This is the first box ive ever made. I used wood glue and i used LOTS of it. the only pieces remaining now are the front, which i still need to make the cutouts for and the top. ill take pix and post.

screws add NO strength, that's what the glue is for. Lay a thick bead and it should come out both side of the joint when clamped/screwed together.

Liquid nails sucks *** do NOT use it. If you have a cut that's a little off mix some sawdust and glue and put it on instead of straight glue and it'll fill the gap.

lol. use plenty of wood glue and use only a couple of screws to hold the mdf together, dont make it out to be all complicated.

the enclosure I have in my sig, has a wood frame with a couple screws holding it together, glued, and fiberglassed. solid.
