Body Filler not bonding to plastic!

I have some plastic door panels and my midrange driver is mounted about 1" out from the sruface so I decided to fill the gaps with body filler to make it look like it was meant to be there.

The body filler looked good but once it had dried the plastic door panel flexed a little bit and the body filler has seperated from the plastic around the edges.

Is there anything I can do to put around the edges to make the body filler bond to the plastic? Or should I just use more body filler?

I always thought body filler bonded to plastic?

bondo does not like to stick to non porous surfaces. Like JAZN said, roughing up some of the plastic might work a little better, but it would probably crack again due to the flex in the plastic. Are you using a mdf ring?

No ime using the plastic rings that come with my type-r's.

That plastic stuff looks great think ile give that ago if i can find it ne where in the UK. Thanks alot for the help.

theres also stuff called "ABS CEMENT" wich is a somewhat viscous liquid a little bit thicker than water (like the constiancy of warmed up maple syrup)

http://www.ipscorp.com/wo_html/abs.html

thats some good stuff if you can find it, it basically MELTS the ABS together, and then evaporates, so the bond between the two materials is permananet. then you can use the duramix\hzemall filler to round out the rest of the seam.
