body filler and vinyl

I will be attaching my fiberglass door pods to the door panel here within the next few days but need something to use to fill in the seam where the pod and door panel will come together. I was wondering if I could use some bondo bodyfiller to do that or will it not stick to the vinyl on the door panel? If this is so does anyone have a suggestion as to what to use besides duramix?

Sillicone makes sense but im not sure on how I would sand it/mold it to make it look like part of the door panel.

fiberglas bondo will work
That scares me a little. Reason being, it seems like bondo doesn't like to stick to vinyl. If others give you support, go for it, but before you try it, make sure the bondo is gonna stick to that vinyl... I have a feeling you will be dealing with cracking bondo, and headaches.

I also thought about using hot glue to get a "rigid structure" around the seam bc in some areas there is a few mm gap between the pod and the door panel vinyl and then from there covering the glue in bodyfiller or spot putty and sanding/smoothing from there.

Pics of the work on the pods or pics of what I am going to attempt to do for a better explaination?

Not much of anything is going to stick to the vinyl. Need to build up the area before you vinyl it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Build it up as in drilling holes in it and roughing it up with some sand paper? Or other?

Nope, I mean the pod itself. If you have allready vinyled it's too late now. Pictures of the gap your trying to fill would help allot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The pod has no vinyl and I dont plan on any. I will get some pics up here in a bit. I am waiting for the glue to dry right now thats holding the pod to the door panel. I found some stuff at homedepot called quick plastic. Pretty much a 2 part putty you kneed together and fill with then sand it down. It claims to stick to vinyl.

If it's a plastic door and the pods aren't finished yet, I'd just rough up the plastic duraglass them. Then maybe wrap the whole portion of the door in vinyl or paint it.

What kind of car and pics would help...

99 f150. Turns out the panels are plastic not vinyl...Donno what I was thinking the last few days. Ill get some pics up later tonight or tomorrow morning.
