To be honest I've never heard this model but I have heard the model that goes under this one (Generator Series) in a band-pass box and they were knocking. The Competitor Series is only recomended for sealed box (says the manual). The motor look nice (the pictures aren't helping) and the cone is very hard. I've never seen a plastic cone this solid. Semi old school goodness...
