I bought this BDU-X10S blu-ray drive from Circuit City for $50 because of there going out of business sale. Plays Blu-Ray's great but today I went to put a DVD in with some programs and files I backed up from a while back and it won't read the discs. I put the disc in anotehr computer and it came up fine. It reads video DVD's ok, I put transformers in and it asked me to play it or do whatever. Did I get a bad drive?

The media im using is Memorex DVD-R

could be that the files are not supported by the player
ex the player wont read avi or such

read the manual and see if it says what files it will read
**** thing should read the files, its a bunch of word documents and .exe programs. I put the disc in a regular DVD drive and it reads them fine.

The BDU-X10S incorporates BD-ROM reading at 2x while still supporting CD-R/RW reading at 24x, DVD+-R/RW and DVD+-R DL reading capabilities at 8x

DVD-R/-R DL/-RW, DVD+R/DVD+R DL/+RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, CD-DA, CD-ROM (XA), CD Extra, Video CD, CD Text, and PhotoCD. (BD-AV, BD-R, BD-RE and BD-ROM are also all naturally supported.)
