To the OP, your better off throwing it in the garbage and buying something new. I doubt your going to be able to recone it.....Im almost positive JL doesnt offer any type of recone

JL does recones. As said above, they are generally cost prohibitive however. The W7 is totally proprietary, you will not find another company willing or able to recone it for you. Sorry.

Call JL directly, find out their price on a recone, and make your decision from there. That's really your only option.

Nothing wrong with a company building a proprietary product like that. When the W7 was first released, it was quite ground breaking in many ways (and still is). The W7 uses alot of interesting technologies and techniques to acheive the flat BL curve that gives them the linear throw we all love so much. When it was released, nothing was even close to it. Pioneering a technology means using proprietary parts.

Not to mention, alot of people complain they get tired of seeing so many manufactuers using the same off-the-shelf parts on their drivers. We cant have it both ways...

You think we'd tell you your only option is pay JL if there was an easy fix? You wanting some answer involving duct tape, rubber bands and a frisbee?
Not to mention, I dont believe you've even ever said what's wrong with the speaker to begin with. Its just 'blown'.
