I have a kenwood excelon KAC-X520 2ch-amp with a RF P312D4 and had a P212S4. but i blew that today and was wondering if i should get a P3 to replace it or just sick with just one 12" P3 or get another but get a bigger amp?

OMG

so u mix and matched sub that have differnt out put and power handleing and VC configs. you were obviously overpowering the P2, that why it blem. , also with a D4 and a S4 sub, it would put a wierd load on your amp, im surpiresed that didnt blow as well. my sugestion would be to completly stop with car audio, allthough u may not view this as a good idea

a real sugestion would be to get another P3 12 D4. im gonna look up the out put of your amp and sugest a 1 sub that will fit the bill for you

SO u have 500 watts at 4ohms for power. NOW how much do you want to spend, the P3 eats 500 watt IIRC so i would just have one sub. BUT u have a dual 4ohm sub wich isnt compatable with your amp

you could get 1 P312D2, wich will be perfect for your amp or if u want to step up u could get a P315D2

now u can also get out of rockford as there is better out there for less.

RE SR 12 $210 from wooferstec 9youll need 2 of em)

FI X 12, there $120 from FI car audio(youll need to of em)

Alpine Type R 12 $139 from woofersetc (get the dual 2ohm)

if i get 1 sub, youll need eather a single 4ohm or a dual 2ohm

if u get 2 subs youll need a dual 4ohm or single 2 or 8 ohm

post some sub u might like to buy and will tell ya if there good or not

well ive already spent over $3000-$4000 in car audio so i dont want to get out of it, but i really like rockford and alpine as my top 2 brands and the P3's are really nice, i just was to anxious to get 2 subs in my truck so i got a P2 not knowing it was messing everything up. But the P3 alone is awsome, but i already have the box and everything set up for 2 subs, unless i take it to an audio store and ask them for suggestions.

bascily u spent alot and didng get much,

on to bussiness

your curant sub places the wrong load on your amp. eather your amp wont put out enough out put, OR to much out put and puts to much load on your amp. IF u insist on having rockford subs, and u have a box for 2 12s get 2 rockford P2 12 D4. there 250 watt each so when paird together and wired properly will place the perfect laod on your amp and deliver the right amount of power to each sub. wire the subs like this

there are other options for you, if u want to step up to some quality products with out paying for the name. let us know. theres a handfull of brands out there that will more then fit the bill for you
