blown sub???

How would you go about testing a sub to see if it's blown? I need to know ASAP. Thanks!

Put a DMM (digital Multi Meter) on the coils and see if it reads the correct impedance

Just so I do it right, the - and + from the DMM should go into the - and + terminals of the sub correct?
