Blown speaker..

I tried connecting a subwhoofer off the same coils the speak is on. and i took the subwoofer off. now the speaker doesnt play. it pops out for pass and has a static type sound. does that mean the speaker is shot? what should i do?

did you do this off the deck? Did you do this: hook the sub and leave the speaker hooked up? . If you did this off the deck and left the speaker hooked up and the sub and tried to play them together, you probly fried the deck output. If It was amplified, you probly blew the speaker.

i had the speaker connected and the subwhooper connect to the same connection in the door. no the whole left side doesnt play.
