Blown MAW-10's ... sad day indeed

Well, one of my friends (Jeremy) that lives in GA asked me to recommend a substage for his friend. He was on a budget so I recommended the Mach 5 audio 10s and a RF400.2 amp to power them. His friend, being completely retarded, bought a prefab bandpass box from CC and allowed them to install the equipment.

Needless to say Jeremy messaged me today saying that the subs never sounded good and blew. My guess is that the morons @ CC screwed up the install and jammed the gain on the amp sending the subs a clipped signal.

The subs are rated for 250wrms and the amp does 200x2 @ 2 ohms or 400x1 @ 4 ohms. A near perfect match, no?

alot of shady installers will max out the gains on an amp to blow the subs if you don't purchase the subs from them, that way they can sell you a new pair of subs when you come in when your other subs blew.

Could be the stupid box as well. Possibly the worst possible thing you could do to subs is put them in an ill-designed bp box.

I had one of those Rockford P4002's and they put out near 600 watts rms at 4 ohms bridged but even that power I doubt could blow them unless you're stupid about it. God **** CC/BB installs...

i bet the amp didnt have a SSF and stuffed those in a ported box of unknown tuneing.
