Don't call it a comeback
Well I got my kicker zx350.2 a few days ago, hooked it up and it worked for a while but I couldn't turn it past half on the gain. It was running rainbow slc265comps. It didn't really sound very good I thought, so I took it out and mounted it where I was gonna put it turned it back on and then everything was screwed up. when I rolled down the windows the noise was comming out the speakers, bad alternator whinning, horrible sound distortion and the amp was goin into protect every few seconds.......well after about 2 or 3 min of this the amp went into protect and never came back on.....so im sending it in and getting a new one....but I was wondering could I have done this to it? or was it just a bad amp. I really don't want to blow another one so any help would be nice.

When installing the amp you should always be careful with hot wires from the battery. Preferrably disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before doing any major work.

Also another reason amps might blow is because of speaker wires shorting out, or speakers having too low of an impedence level.

Another thing, never mount the amp upside down.

I pulled the fuse so no hot wires.....checked the impediacne w/ a multimeter it was right....gonna pull the door pannels off and check all the wiring......mounted it right side up....i think it was a bad amp.
