Blowing Fuses

What would cause an amplifier to blow fuses. My Memphis amp blew all 3 25A fuses today and I am trying to figure out why.

Everything has been working great for 6 weeks. Do you mean a short in the amp maybe?

could be that the jacket ripped along the run and is grounded onto the chassis. Better re-check all your wiring

did the amp go on protection mode? check for shorts through your power wire. get your amp tested if all the fuses blow again when replaced. (could be melted internals-complete ciurcuit with grnd and power)

x2 clean the area of the ground where you volted it bud

usually when am amp fuse blows, its screwed

it is possible you need fuses of a higher amperage

Don't think so! The maker of the amp knows whats best.

If your blowing fuses all of a sudden I say the amp is done. Did the amp get the power it needed? Was it really loud when it stopped?

i have the same problem with my amp does and its in protection does that mean the amp is still good?

I checked the amp out on someone elses wiring and the fuses immediatly blew when the car was turned on so it wasnt my wiring. And It wasnt low voltage, that amp NEVER seen anything below 12.5V and 90% of the time it was at 14. I opened the amp up and it doesnt have anything burnt that I can see. Anyone got ANY ideas?

A freind of mine had a memphis amp that worked fine and then one day the fuse blew. So we replaced it and it smoked. Took it back to the shop and our freind that works there knew it was done when we started telling him about it.

Long story short get it tested..amp might be done for..

you bblew the outputs or the power supply. lookin at 100-200 bones
