TroofYou turned the amp down to 3/4 so they wouldn't blow? You should learn what that gain knob is for before you put the new subs in and blow them. Just because the gain is up 75% of the way doesn't mean you're only getting 75% of the amps power.
Quoted for hilarity.i had them at 1 ohm lol. I heard nothing but "those subs can handle 800 rms all day" so i turned the amp down to about 3/4 and went with it.

um my HU goes to volme 40 ...i never go past 25. I could tell when the subs were bottoming out so immedietly after hearing it i would re adjust my volume to where they werent. i never put the amp into protect ad considering its sufficating under a seat Im gunna go ahead and say it wasnt running at full tilt. The cone was a foot from my ear so hearing the subbottom out wasnt a problem. i just ran them for too long of time periods going back and forth from school and home. So stop think i just maxed my volume and figured the amp was gunna run 3/4 of it strength. You turned the amp down to 3/4 so they wouldn't blow?
