Title says it all, blew my sdc 2.5 12 today. Not sure how it blew though. Ran it of of a auidopipe ap 1500, gains were a touch under halfway to ensure no clipping and that i would push to much power to it. Bass level on the hu was set to 0 and sub level was at 3 of 8. Been on the same settings since i got it less than a month ago.any ideas as to why it blew?

What electrical/ohm load for the amp? Also, I made the mistake of setting my apsm1500 with a dmm to do rated... turns out they clip at just over 1000 watts @ 1 ohm/850ish @ 2. Most 2.5" coils are going to get hot very fast on anything over 1000, anyway. clipped or not.

That ***** man it happens ..i got 2 nice dd3512.s for sale if ur lookin to replace it

Hu never went over 38, was the volume i used to set the gains, i doubt it was putting out a clipped signal and i know i wasnt over powering it. Makes me wish i would have never got rid of my kicker cvxs lol. I abused the **** it of them for over a.year and they held up nicely. Not sure what I'm gonna do about a replacement just yet

Ran at 2 ohms, stock electrical but i made sure i want getting voltage drop after setting the gains and i want getting any playing at full tilt with heat/lights.on.

On my AP amp, i just barely have the gain up a hair for my full voltage, but the amp starts at 5v and my HU puts out 4.

It all depends on the volts your headunit puts out to determine how far you turn the gain.

Was the sub brand new? AQ does have a strict break in,and if it was new then maybe that was the case...not letting the spiders and all loosen up. If not then what's been said, clipping, I've seen those subs take 1500 rms, well at least 1000 rms and not break a sweat.
