Blew an RE SE today

im pretty sure you blew them by under powering them. 1000 watts for 2 SE's is not enough power. Like everyone else said reconing them may be a waste of money seeing how you can find a used one for around $120 and a recone kit usually runs around $90, if one blew i wouldnt be surprised if the other has some ware on it.

You,s a dumb sombitch . No sub in the history of subs has ever been blown because of under powering them. The only way to blow a sub from to little power its caused from clipping . Hell i fed mine 800 rms for like 4 months and never a problem.

As far as the se not being worth reconeing you can get a kit from PSI for like $100 and thats for a 4 layer coil that will handle about 1200rms daily

Turned up the gain to high, forgot about it, few days later gave her a blast for 30 ish seconds near the end the sound cut in half.

each of my se's been gettin 1k for 4 or so months... can be done with proper gain training.
