Birthsheet

I cant find a birthsheet for my amp (not that I even know what one is) but i assume its showing its full potential like how many watts@ a certain ohm?

I was wondering what tool is needed to find out how much watts my amp actually puts out.

Its rated at 600x2 RMS but im wondering if it really does what it says, because my gains @ about 5/6 seems to give my type-r trouble.

I know I havn't set my gains properly yet (with an o-scope or anything like that) and i've only done it by ear.

Im kinda looking for a suggestion on where to go/how to set my amp up properly for both my front stage and my sub.

My amp is a Cadence TXA-6004.

sorry for the n00b questions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Im running my components and sub off of a 3 channel amp, basically.

Its running 600x2 bridged mode, but my 1st channel plays L/R and acts as 2 channels. My 2nd channel is my subwoofer channel.

but yes its a 4 channel amp and im running both my front components and my sub.

yeah nothing wrong with running a 4 chan that way

birthsheet doesnt matter

all amps will putout atleast what the manufacurer states so your 600 watt amp may do 650 or so, your ears wont notice a differance so dont worry

the gain set at 5/6 is really high, not to say its set wrong because ive seen situations where it needs that high because of low preout from a head unit, but your probably clipping the amp bad

what kinda head unit do you have

I have an Alpine CDE-9873.

Im considering buying a different headunit because the EQ adjustments are lacking.

Im going to turn down my gains for now and get them set properly soon. Any suggestions on what to do for that?? Find a good local audio shop??

Do you suggest I try a different H/U for better SQ, blazeplacid?

thanks for the help.
