Bigrick31's 04 Sliverado Project Log

about $300 to chop my rear end 1.5 inches on both sides however wont it look funny if my wheels are sitting an inch and a half towards each other under my back wheel wells? i actually like the rear camber look
Unless you plan to ride with the bags fully inflated people wont know a difference.

oh no actually setting up an independent rear suspension would take a lot more work and money so im just going to shorten my axle 2" on both sides. add spacers so my tires sit right then when i go to add 24s later ill be set.

so i gotta get more pics up. havnt been able to get my comp to work long enough to do anything. its been on the frits all week. i just cleaned out all the dust that has accumulated inside for the past 2 years and now its working lots better! any whoo i got the bed on with the stock wheels just had to trim the inner lip of my fenders. and i got my drop spinals for the front yesterday so i should have the front bagged by the end of this weekend. then a buddy is coming over to tint my windows for me and throw on a club logo. oh and i got some audio equipment. a loner from my Buddie who has had it sitting in his room for the past year. talked him into letting me use it until he decides what hes gunna do with it. anyways a BRAHMA mk1 15 and a concept 1200watt amp should do nicely under my back seat! that project will start once i finish bagging the truck.

i think this will do much better. and with the smaller cone area i wont have to raise my back seat as much! it was my buddies i guess mtx gave him a partial sponsorship and sold him hella mtx gear wicked cheap for his show truck. but it was recently totaled so he started selling everything just so happened we got to talking about speakers after a few drinks and he showed me this sub. and when he told me the price i said id take it!

a couple pics with the bed back on. i love that my truck lifts higher than stock. i like rollin around lookin like a normal truck and hittin the switches! so much fun!

ok so i started on the front. i had to unhook my upper and lower ball joints along with the tie rods and then i removed my stock spindals so that i could replace them with 2" drop spindals. it was a pain bu get the rotor and break caliper back together on the new spindals but i got them on and got the spindals connected back to the lower ball joint after i had removed the stock springs and shocks. and let me tell ya the spindals along with the whole break assembly is frigin heavy!!! anyways here are the pics

and here is how the bag will sit in place between the control arms. we did this to see what all had to be cut away. looks like ill need to notch my frame for my tie rods to come up. and ill need to notch my cups so that they wont rub on the air bag. along with cutting off old brackets for my stock bump stops.

here we took a torch to cut away at my cups to make room for the air bag

thats after i took the grinder to what we torched. after a mock up looks like ill still need to cut away more.

drilled a hole in the top of the cup to allow my air line to drop through to the air bag
