Ok so one person says i can run up to about ~1500 watts and someone else says dont go over ~300 watts. I wont be cranking it up on the road for long periods of time. Maybe 2-3 minutes all out on the road. But i listen to my system mostly at a stand still.

500 id say.....i k now its not mathematically and technically corrent, but i say about......10 per amp...... of course the higher u get the more power u can go......say a 200 amp alt can take more than 2000 watts....but i think 500 would suffice on a 50 amp easy.

if you're 55a alt is in good shape then i would say half of your car batterys c.c.a SO if my car battery was 500 c.c.a then i would have 250amps- or less too play with

I could use a Soundstream Tarantula (2000+ watts @ 300 amperes) off my GF's 55 ampere alternator and it would be fine ... assuming it wasn't actually trying to draw well in excess of 55 amperes (thus nowhere near its potential) ...
I would say no more than 700 watts, but recommend 550 watts or less for class D/T or 450 wattss or less for class A/B ...
Whilst driving he claims full useage with no problems.
