bigger vs. smaller...

im still trying to decide what to run in my car... ive been considering lately to run 4 - cdt ef8 subs... would be nice since they would match my cdt c/f hds... but would it be better to run one bigger one? on that side, ive been considering running either a 10" diamond audio tdx or a 12" diamond audio m6/d6...

with the 4 - 8's it would be getting 500 RMS and with the other 2 diamond audio subs, they would be getting 1000RMS... the 4 - 8's could get more power but im not sure what a us amps de-1000 puts out at 1 ohm... probably way too much...

anyways... with the 4-8's will i still get the low end response i would with a 12? will it just be loud? or will it be overkill?

thanks

i dont know if its entirly true but from what ive understand with the same line of subs two 8 has about the same output as one ten then two 10s have the out put as one 12 im not sure but can someone straighten this out for me not trying to derail

well, I don't know much about those subs, but why not go with 3 8"s and port them. The output would be greater than 4 8"s sealed, and you could probably get pretty low with them, if tuned right. Like I said, don't know much about those subs though, I've got 2 L7 12"s and was thinking about going w/ 2 15" sealed. My 12"s get much louder than the 15"s
