i got 2 soundstream dbx's. i want a nice size hump in freq responce for comps, so should i go for 4ft @ ~40Hz or 6ft @ ~40Hz? using BBP6 the graphs shows a noticable difference...but will there still be a big diff once i put it in an actual car environment?

6.5ft^3 @ 35Hz

that sounds good, you should build an ujustable port on there or somthing, and tune it over 40 for comps
