Big Argument...US Acoustics or JBL...need input!

A friend of mine and I had a big discussion on the comparison of the quality and performance of JBL vs. Us Acoustic Amps. I believe US Acoustic build better quality, more accurate power ratings and overall better performance then JBL. In particular we were comparing The USX-USX800D and The JBL 600.1.

If they were priced the same which of the two would you buy? and why?

us acoustics blow's jbl out of the water. you can compare any particular usx amp compared to any jbl amp and it will put out more power. take the 1000d will put consistently more power out than jbl and the jbl will only do it's rated power at 14.4volts when usx does it at 12.9. now there is very little gain going higher than that due to their semi-regulated power supply you do gain a little. USX beats the piss out of JBL my personal opinion and personal experience.

from experience with both over the years, I liked the older JBL amps and have always respected their performance, but I have been much happier with the US Acoustics for Car Audio applications, their durabliity and power rattings, and low THD are very nice, for today I have to say US Acoustics with out hesitation

JBL amps are what every kid on the block is running and they think there the greatest. Now between those two amps (even though they both are 600 rms @ 2-ohms) the USX-800 will produce more power then the JBL because it is rated at a lower input voltage (12.9V) It will also produce cleaner signal with less noise. (thanks to the S/N ratio and THD)

me personally i'd take either....both are great.....the us acoustics are rated at 12.9v where as the jbl is underated.....either way you'd be happy.......

US Acoustics hands down...

i just got rid of my JBL and picked one up from thezeb for $244 shipped. Also, it has a subsonic filter and remote gain control which is reason enough to spend the extra $40

Ok, I love JBL and all my amps/speakers are JBL. I have the 1200.1, and my friend just got the USX-1000D. Before he bought it i tried to convince him to go with JBL, but someone told him about US-Acoustics. Me personally never dealt with them or heard of them so I told him that they were junk. I must admit that even though his is only rated at 700 watts RMS @ 2 ohm compared to my 1200 watts RMS @ 2 ohm when hooked up to my subs, it did sound not only better but louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Im kinda dissapointed in my amp now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif So Im going to have to say US-Acoustics wins this.

the JBL sucks more power from the alt. it all depends on teh application. The good thing about the JBL which USX cant offer is 1200w at both 1 and 2 ohm. Also...bumpin blazer are you sure the USX1000d puts out more then the jbl 1200.1??? I know they are both underrated and the JBL is said to push about 1300. So you think the USX puts out 300 more watts at 14v then it does at 12.9??? but if that power output doesnt really matter....the USX is more durable and has more options.

aren't DEI amps expensive???? if they are...its not real fair to compare them since your talking about a huge price difference. So for the money id take the us acoustics.

I have a USX800D and it by far is the best amp I have ever owned. The features are great. Ive heard that JBL has well unadequite features. I think US is one of the best amps around. Makes my Type R's slam much harder than my brothers RF HX2's. And he's putting them on a USA1000 at 500rms. Mines only 300rms. So by far US kills JBL in all areas. Power, Features, and it doesnt heat up. I've played this thing for hours on end and its still cool to the touch.
