It's all the same **** man. Just electrons flowing through metal to complete the circuit. They want to go the way with the least resistance, so it would all depend on what lengths you would go to in order to give the electrons the easiest and most conductive path. In my case, I have 1/0 awg going directly from the alt. bracket to the neg. batt terminal. I also have the normal neg. batt to frame, frame to block at three places, and pos. batt to pos. alt. of course.
