Big 3, AGM battery & high output alt....Lights still dim

Im gonna get a new headunit soon as i can. this stock unit has run its course. I wish i had access to an O scope lol, woundnt be having these issues.
The gain could be too high but it doesnt make sense that its gotta be at such a low level with all these things supporting the amp. guess im gonna retune this thing again.

Most of my music i get off the internet. i try to download in the highest quality available.

Power wire from battery to amp is 4g, amp ground is 4g & big 3 is 2g. I would use 0g for everything but it wont fit in the amp terminals.

Im going to get into everything with a meter once the weather clears up. If i cant figure it out ill have to take it somewhere with an o scope & have it set up properly.

. You can run 0 and get a reducer or a distro block. You can also keep the loc gains at no more than 1/2 and toy with it there. Read up on setting gains with dmm.

Idk the loc had its own settings. Ill read up & find where they put it to make some adjustments.

They usually do. If not, you might want to replace it with an lc2i if you're gonna stay with the stock hu.

Its not supporting the amp. Its just magnifying the preamp voltage from your head unit very high. Depending where its set at, even at 5% amp gains, you'll be already clipping.

Thats what i meant about it being a delicate situation, you actually have to deal with double gain knobs and they magnify eachother exponentially. Extremely easy to cause clipping without even knowing it.

You gotta learn how to properly adjust the LOC.

The alt, big 3 & battery are what I meant by supporting mod but you are correct. I can't remember what brand of loc they used. I just remember it being a higher end unit vs the little cheapie white one I'd had in my previous car.

What you said makes perfect sense. I would have never thought the loc could be multiplying the amp gains like that. Its definitely time to stop putting it off & drop a headunit in to eliminate the loc all together. Less strain on the car, less hassle, better/cleaner sound along with Bluetooth and other modern capabilities. Im gonna redo the big 3 with some knukoncepts 0g cable & redo power from batt to amp with some of there cable as well.

Ill give an update once it's all done.
