Seems a little high on the output for the rms 200 on the sub. Thoughts?http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/619793-pristine-fosgate-punch-500a2-usa-made.html
this was just posted on the classified. It would work nicely with your pioneer sub
Hope to get something around 100-150budget?
It's almost always better to have more power on tap so that you can give it a constant 200w clean power at low gain without stressing out the amp. You wouldn't want an amp that can only handle 200w at most because the amp will get hot easily and more than likely lead to a clipped signal (dirty signal), which can lead to amp failure or a blown sub possibly. Just because it's rated at 500w@4ohm, doesn't mean you have to use it all. You can use a digital multimeter to set your gains to 200w with no problems. Nothing wrong with overpowering a sub as there is box rise to consider and the fact that music is dynamic. Power will fluctuate as you play each note. Very rarely are you ever getting full power out of the amp anyway unless you're playing constant test tones.Seems a little high on the output for the rms 200 on the sub. Thoughts?
