Best amp for 2 Type R's

friend is getting 2 12" type R's in a sealed box, the type r's are duel 4 ohm, can i wire it to 1 ohm? if so tell me how and find me an amp that can take it. budget is around 200

Yes, wire them paralell. All wire + together and all - together to amp. This creates a 1ohm load. So you need 1000rms at 1ohm.

They could take it, my R's took 1700 between the pair daily and were just fine.. it was an Orion 2500d @ 2 ohms

Just because it puts out more power than you need doesn't mean you have to use it? I like to buy amps that put out a lil more power then needed.

i personally would take that but he only has 210 to spend on an amp so thats a little to much

Ah, well money is the most important part in buying the amp lol... You'd be just fine with either of the MB Quart amps

get a used power acoustic a2400db. around 1500 rms at 1 ohm.,.... very underrated amp from all the posts i've seen on here... i have 1 hooked up to 3 12" type r's and it is more then enough. i got mine on ebay used for 140 bucks shipped. Many think pa is a crap brand but some of there stuff is actuall pretty nice.
