best 2k amp

Didn't think taramps had a 4K. So are any of these rated at 12volts instead of 14 or highly underrated? But I still don't see how a brizilian board will make more wired to 1 then a stout Korean wired to .5 after rise? Especially two 2ks at .5 each sub.

Id get a brazillian 4k over a korean 2k anyday. Sound will be better, louder without even needing to wire low, better on voltages. The korean 2k only matches up if its an underatted as fk 2k like the new IA 20.1 and you wire half ohm or lower. By the. Its unstable, inefficient current hogs and its not any louder than the brazillian anyways. Im actually gonna swap out my tfe for a taramps bass 12k. Try a brazillian and youll completely change your minds about how this whole wiring low crap with koreans go.
The point being he is in a competition class that limits to 4000W, so he can add up to that however he likes but not go over. IA 20.1 is rated at like 2800 so a pair of those is dead too, though the IA lineup is very good for SPL competition purposes.

Looks about the size of my old one, but that new one is rated 4200W which is a deal breaker for you. Now I'm not even sure if the old version was rated 4000 or 4200??? We just called it 4K, but our org here limits at 5K so it was a moot point for me.

I don't think you want to wire them way below minimum impedance and count on "rise". I think a lot of these amps blow up that way. I can tell you that you might be impressed with what it will do if you wire it up to its rated nominal impedance. Search around for Taylor Fade's "7K roundup" and you'll see that the high voltage JBL/Crown 6K running 4 ohm made higher SPL than many of the Korean 7K amps at 1 ohm. High voltage is pretty slick and you may well rise from .5 ohm to 2 ohm anyway, you will have absolutely no idea. Now depending how serious you want to take having the amp(s) see .5 ohm or whatever, be prepared to try different coils until you get there with potentially a number of recones. Either way, the guys who are super comeptitive are spending a lot of money either blowing amps or subs, or tearing down subs to try different parts to optimize performance in their box on their amps.

I didn't think of Mmats amps though. That is a very good call. A little pricey but they are made in USA still (at least their higher end should be) and they make low impedance models even. I've never heard anything bad about them or their customer service. There's a youtube video of their 2K crushing the 2K rating on the amp dyno so a pair of those may well be your best option if you want to squeeze every watt you can in 4K rated class.

Yeah I wouldn't wire a brizilian lower than what's it rated for. I've looked at mmats before but there 2ks are like 800 each so at the moment is out the window.

You wanna play you gotta pay.

Yeah but twisted sounds has a 1k and I was think 2 strapped per sub at 1k and there only $220 a price so that would be cost effective to go towards other things and it should give me just about max power capabilities

Would probably be a good choice if you can deal with the space/mounting. Also you'll have the option of finding some dual .5 ohm (or .33 or whatever) coils and run 1 amp per coil. By all accounts the Twisted under-rates their offerings a bit so that should work.

I ran a pair of VFL 100.1 strapped at 1ohm, they never went into protect and never got hot. I was running a mechman 270a, 2 runs of 1/0 and a d3400 underhood, and a pc2150 rear and my voltage rarely dropped below 13v. The VFL's are built like friggen tanks, I've ran a pair of 80.1's then upgraded to a pair of 100.1's and never had the first issue. Can't go wrong with the VFL line.

Never got a chance to clamp test both of them, but it was definitely in the 4k neighborhood. I did clamp a single vfl100.1 and it did a little over 2800w@0.5ohm.

Check the ISPLL power ratings on Matthew's facebook, underrated amps are rated what they actually clamp, not the number on the heatsink. So go with a 2k or less amp from that list.
