Either one should work fine. Since they are the same price, does one have a longer warranty? Or do you like the appearance of one more than the other?

Why the hell is Pyramid charging $600+ for ANY amp they produce these days?

This isn't like the korean car manufacturers turning things around and making quality survey's, ................it's Pyramid.

Don't you ever call me a hater. I'm asking why they have such a high MSRP. LEARN the definition of hater before you go spewing. I have a question. When I left the car audio circuit in 2001 Pyramid couldn't give the amps away for over $150, now they think they are going to get $600+ msrp?

Actually if you do a little research, Pyramid NEVER owned Lanzar. Lanzar was purchased by Sound Around which also happens to own Pyramid. When they were purchased, nothing changed in their Opti Drive amps except the color of the case. They were still just as bulletproof as before, due in part to the fact that for at least a few years after the merger, Zed Audio designed them. All the merger did was give Lanzar a couple of entry level lines of amplifiers, such as the Vibe series. Granted these amps "****" if you compare them to the black chassis Opti's, but for the money you can't beat em. But since they weren't as good as the old school Opti's, everyone just assumed that the Opti series went down the tubes too. Pretty much anyone you talk to, besides the extremely brand biased, will still tell you the Opti's are killer amps. They're built like tanks, just like they were back in the day. So before you go blasting the Opti series as Pyramid junk. They are FAR from the crap marketed under the Pyramid name, and I would even pitt them against any high end amps you can find.

They have such a high MSRP because they're strong amps, and you can't group the lanzar opti's and any pryamid in the same group. Just because the company owns both labels doesn't mean they are the same quality.

And don't say I'm spewing...the guy asked a question about 2 lanzar amps and you blasted them as a pyramid product. They are not pyramid.

Both amps are nearly identical. Only 400 watt difference. I'd get the 1400d since it's the same price. Both are opti drives so it will surely put out power.

FWIW - I think the Zed era Opti's were in a leage of their own. Every bit as good as the previous black ones, and previous to that Grey ones. I'd go with the 1000.1D.
