batcap

in your case i would want reserve over a burst. besides the kinetik 600 has more than "400 amps" it has 600 which is ok i guess neither one will make you that much louder just have a steadier voltage.

oh, so it basically just keeps you voltage from dropping? i have a 95 accord and i think have a stock alty, i think its around 90 amps, which obviously isnt alot. I just bought a 15" XXX and a a3000db amp. I want push this thing to its full potential. What would you suggest i do? Run a batcap and a yellow top or what?

it's just somewhere between a capacitor and a normal battery

it has lower esr than a battery, but higher capacity than a capacitor.........

a regular deep cycle battery will last longer

a real cap will sustain short (milliseconds) voltage drops better

there's no black and white answer, you just have to decide if 'good enough' is good enough for you, for me it was, but my electrical system was already heavily reinforced, and the kinetik was just icing on the cake.

it's not even as easy as 'batcap' or 'kinetik' either, the bigger these batteries are, the higher the esr gets again..... the big kinetik batteries are basically just high-capacity deep cycles again. Rising esr with increased capacity is unavoidable with the same materials, and without a linear increase in size.

this is true but the bat cap is just smaller battery cells (less capacity). on 3000 watts i would get at least 160 amp alt and either a kinetik under the hood or the yellow top (depending on the size of your wallet) and hook up a kinetik 800 like you would a cap. you can use it as moderate reserve (meaning key off for a few minutes but not as the main battery) but should fill in any huge peaks you might have. this is hooking it up for a smaller but still advantagous effect either that or you can get a 2400 hc if you could fit it in. in case of batteries vs alt there is no winner really as you cant have one without the other and they work together. also reason i suggest kinetik is they stand behind the product very well.

there's also a brand who sells the exact same cells as the kinetik batteries, but they're less $$$

my local shop sells both, but i still ended up going with the kinetik because their batteries use full size 5/8" terminals, where the knockoffs use smaller bolts.

if you don't mind using washers on your connections, you could look for the knockoffs, i'm sure the performance is exactly the same. i don't remember the name of the company, but they're black instead of blue

meaning if you cooked it via abuse they cover it. when i worked there only thing i ever heard not covered was a bank that someone charged at a rate they were specifically told not too. i cant say the samething for optima or orbital
