So i had my XXX and box up on ebay and it sold in less than 1 day. Well before the dude hit buy it now we had a long convo because he lives in Buffalo, NY and i said i would only do local pick-up. Well i decided that i would drive to Cleveland to meet him but i needed the route that he was going to drive to get there so that i could plan out where to meet and the time etc. Well he said he would get back at me over the weekend (last) and he never did. So on Wed. i get a email saying" So we're still on for this weekend right?" So i reply with "Yes but i need you driving info first so i may plan where to meet." Again no response.

Then today, i get an email saying " give me your cell because i want to leave for Cleveland tonite" At this point i'm pissed off because i plan any out-of-town trips very carefully to protect myself from being in a somewhat unknown situation.

My reply back to him was " Not gonna happen. You have failed to fill my request for your driving directions 3 different times. I plan my trips carefully and refuse to meet a total stranger, out of town, at a moments notice, so this transaction is over. I will not leave you back feedback as long as i don't receive any and i will either relist the item or just **** up the $19 transaction fee that ebay is gonna charge my credit card."

So he's pissed off and is ranting and raving about legal contracts and reporting me to ebay and the whole deal. Then he proceeds to tell me that there is no planning involved and there is only one way to Cleveland from Buffalo and all this other shit.

So basically...what would you have done in my situation, not being familiar with the town and not even knowing what route he was coming or anything?

i would ask him what he drove got his phone number and asked where he wanted to meet. but not tell him what to look for then make the place public and tell him to have CASH. Then when you see him at said location call his cell and ask him to meet you someplace else near by. and of course dont go by yourself.

Your auction never stated local pick up was allowed? Did you state in email that pick up is ok? If not tell the *** munch to hurry and send the money paypal so you can ship it out and that his b!tch *** gets to pay to ship it a few miles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif. I'd be very about doing stuff like that...wouldnt bug me much though. I'd just be sure to meet him at a walmart or something. Something with lots of lights and lots of people.

Dunno if ya saw some other thread that was on earlier. If he was too pay with paypal and pick it up....you better have his id copied and have him sign the copy. Otherwise you have no proof that you gave him the item //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

the auction was for local pickup only but after talking with him i decided that i would travel within MY state to meet him but since he refused to give me any information i could use, i had to decline to drive. He actually just threatened me right thru ebay's messaging system, it says that he has my home address and that he'll be seeing me very soon and that i better be prepared for what i got coming to me.

same as you

Instead of doing the halfway thing, you can tell him the offer is still open (if you're trying to get your merchandise sold) but he's gonna have to come all the way.

i wouldve told him to kiss my *** followed by a roundhouse kick to the face that his mother would of felt.
he refused contact, his fault. EOD
